Whitney Awards Banquet

Celebrate excellency in literature by Latter Day Saint authors

The Whitney Awards honors the best fiction written each year by Latter-day Saints (Mormons). A three-tiered system—with input from readers, judges, and a large academy of publishing professionals—is used to determine the finalists and winners.

The Whitney Awards Gala is a public event in honor of some amazing LDS authors. It will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at the Provo Marriott Hotel. The winners are announced and the awards are presented to the category winners and to the overall award winners, all of which have been chosen by the academy.

In addition, two special awards (Lifetime Achievement and Outstanding Achievement) are awarded to individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary achievement and/or who have made significant contributions to the LDS writing community.

We welcome anyone who wants to attend the gala and celebrate the achievements of remarkable LDS authors. Mingle with your favorite authors, add to your To-Be-Read pile, and be part of the Whitney Awards excitement.
